Ear seeds are a simple self-help tool that lets you easily stimulate the acupuncture (pressure) points of the ear.
Why the ear? The earliest documentation of using the ear to treat health concerns is the 'Huang Di Nei Jing Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic', circulating in the 1st century BC to 1st century AD. The Nei Jing emphasized that the "human body is a microcosm of the macrocosm and the human is the connection between heaven and earth." NAADAC.org.
Nei Jung stated “Maintaining order rather than correcting disorder is the ultimate principle of wisdom. To cure disease after it has appeared is like digging a well when one already feels thirsty, or forging weapons after the war has already begun.”
The Nada protocol was discovered by Dr. Wen in 1972, a neurosurgeon in Hong Kong, and has been adapted over the years. NADA stands for 'The National Acupuncture Detoxification Association' which teaches a specific protocol for 'acu-detox'. The use of acu detox has evolved over the years and has been found to be a useful tool in substance abuse treatments. The protocol is also used widely for mental health, trauma and chronic pain management.
